We are passionate about sourcing the freshest ingredients from farms and estates throughout the country, cooked by our team of talented and highly qualified chefs.

Our reasonably priced, seasonal lunchtime and evening menu offers exciting English food with a Mediterranean and New World twist.

Lunch & Dinner

Our a la carte menu offers a range of dishes to suit all moods and tastes, from culinary classic such as our renowned Beer Battered Fish & Chips and ‘The Birch’ Chargrilled Steak Burger to modern and exciting dishes that change throughout the year.

This menu is currently available Wednesday – Saturday 12pm – 2.15pm & 6pm – 9:30pm.

Sunday Lunch

On Sundays we are open for an extended lunch serving food from 12pm – 5pm offering a range of top quality roast meats from local farms, accompanied with fresh market vegetables, crisp golden roast potatoes and of course our impressive homemade Yorkshire Pudding!  For those customers who prefer not to have a roast dinner, there are a variety of other dishes also available.

With a mini roast available for children, The Birch is the perfect venue for a family meal out.

Children

We welcome children at our establishment and we have introduced a new children’s menu created especially for our younger diners, aged 10 years and under.  The menu offers delicious child-friendly dishes made from the same quality fresh ingredients we use in our main menus.  We also offer the majority of our dishes on our main menus as half portions at a reduced price.  Our staff are also happy to cater for any particular food requests your children may have, as we understand the importance of keeping them happy!

Dietary Requirements

We strive to cater for all dietary requirements; as long as you let our team know in advance, our chefs are happy to discuss any particular requests prior to you dining at The Birch.

Every dish on our menu that is gluten free (gf) or is gluten free adaptable (gfa) is clearly marked, making it easy for those of you who suffer with gluten intolerance to see what dishes are available for you to enjoy – without the discomfort later!

We also offer a range of gluten free beer and wine.

Drink

The Birch boasts a modern and stylish bar, with eclectic decor, fixed seating and wood burning stove still giving it that cosy and comfortable feel.  It’s a great place to enjoy a drink with friends and family, or relax with a pre-dinner beverage before settling at your table in the restaurant. You are also welcome to dine in the bar as we offer our a la carte menu and full waiter service.

Our beers, stouts and real ales are carefully selected, with Guinness, Estrella Damm, Camden Hells, Tribute and Goose Island IPA on draught, as well as bottled premium lagers, stout and gluten free beer.  Alongside the well known brands we also offer unique, quality products such as Fever-Tree mixers, house vodka by Chase plus a great range of gins such as Warners, Sipsmiths, Bombay Saphire and other favourites.  Our soft drinks consist of a range of Frobishers fruit juices, Fentimens botanically brewed beverages and many more.

We have an impressive range of liquors, malt whiskey, fine brandy and quality Armagnac.  We also boast an extensive choice of wine – hand picked by our manager in conjunction with our wine supplier Ellis of Richmond established since 1822.  We strive to select hand crafted wines from small growers and award winning wineries, who share our passion for value and quality.

We use award-winning Teapigs for our tea and local Wooden Hill Coffee Company for our coffee, both big on ethical sourcing and plastic-free packaging, reducing our carbon foot-print whilst still offering you top quality taste with every sip.
